Ashok Chugani was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1985 and practiced general areas of the law. In 1997 he joined as a partner in the law firm of M/s Mirchandani & Partners, the practice of which slants towards divorce and all areas of family law practice.
Ashok Chugani handles divorces and ancillary matters arising from breakdown of the marriage such as children’s issues such as custody, care & control and access as well as financial issues pertaining to maintenance and division of matrimonial assets.
He has handled several cases involving international divorce, international custody disputes and child abduction.
Ashok Chugani has advised clients on pre-nuptial agreements and drafted Settlements as well as Separation Agreements where non confrontational approach by clients is sought and preferred. He has also been a volunteer with AWARE’s legal clinic for several years.
Besides matrimonial work, Ashok Chugani has acquired much experience in other areas of the law and handles a variety of legal work such as debt recovery, traffic and industrial accident claims, contractual claims etc.
He speaks English, basic Malay and Hindi.
